Mr Krisda on Wednesday announced his resignation from the public broadcaster following criticism about the organisation's investment in debentures issued by Charoen Pokphand Foods Plc (CPF). In Ms Supinya's case, the court gave her a reprieve by deferring the sentencing for two years. Both Mr Krisda and Ms Supinya have displayed in their own self-sacrifice that it is not enough for policymakers just to comply with the laws or regulations. It's unfortunate that the admirable examples set by Mr Krisda and Ms Supinya seem to be rare cases. In their resignations, Mr Krisda and Ms Supinya displayed what professional and ethical standards for public officials should be.
